Smith has signed a contract to play the 2011-12 season for the Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank team of the Chinese Basketball Association. Smith won't be able to return to the NBA for the season if the lockout ends because the Chinese Basketball Association, unlike many of the European leagues, has said it will not allow opt-out clauses for NBA players.
